GRANBY, Colo. — A new wildfire sparked Wednesday in Colorado, this time it was near the town of Granby in Grand County. The Windy Gap Fire was reported at about 1 p.m. It began just off of Highway 40 by Windy Gap Reservoir near the intersection with Highway 125.

Information is continuing to be released from state agencies after several wildfires across Colorado caused evacuations and pre-evacuations as they grew in size. Some of the wildfires across the state continue to burn,

Jefferson County issued a Red Flag alert on Friday morning, as heat and dryness combined to increase fire danger. Now one fire department is adding new positions to increase resources in anticipation of new wildfires.
