It’s early August, the deadest of dead zones on the NBA calendar.Summer League’s over, the draft is a distant memory, and free agency’s been picked clean like the nacho tray at a Super Bowl party by halftime.

The NBA will tip off its 2025-26 season on NBC on Oct. 21 with two Western Conference games, featuring the Thunder, Rockets, Lakers and Warriors.

Opening night of the upcoming NBA season will feature the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder hosting Houston and a star-studded clash between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State, ESPN

The NBA’s highly anticipated Christmas Day schedule has been revealed, courtesy of ESPN’s Shams Charania (via X ). The slate of five games is heavy on Western Conference powerhouses, with just one game coming from the Eastern Conference, in a matchup of what is expected to be the top two teams in the Cavaliers and Knicks.

Opening night will see Kevin Durant head back to Oklahoma City with his new team, and watch his former team raise their NBA championship banner. The other game will see Stephen Curry and LeBron James play against one another in another star-studded Western Conference class.
